Plant breeders put a lot of effort into developing new, high quality varieties. Have you ever wondered who tells them what to breed for? And how do we decide what makes a quality variety? These are the questions being asked at Washington State University’s Breadlab, where researchers and plant breeders work closely with farmers and bakers through participatory plant breeding (PPB).
