Regional Program Coordinator, Atlantic Canada

Kaitlyn Duthie-Kannikkatt is the Atlantic Regional Program Coordinator for the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security. She is completing a Ph.D. through the University of Manitoba exploring the construction of decolonial food and seed systems in southern Bolivia. She recently moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Winnipeg where she was the research coordinator for a project on adaptations in the local food sector amidst the spread of COVID-19 in Treaty 1 and Treaty 3 territories. Kaitlyn is excited to support and connect with farmers and gardeners in the Atlantic region who are passionate about cultivating seed sovereignty.
